--- Birth at St. Petersburg on June 2, 1838. of Princess Alexandra of Oldenburg, daughter of Prince Peter of Oldenburg and Princess Theresia of Nassau. Alexandra must have had a lonely childhood, as she almost completely lacked family companionship of children of her approximate age. Only one first cousin and a two-year younger brother Nicholas, a rather mysterious personality, a man who died unmarried in 1886. (HP)
--- Alexandra Petrovna grew up in the happy Oldenburg family. Prince Peter Georgievich and Princess Theresia led an exemplary family life, and looked carefully after the education of their children. Alexandra was happy to be involved in solving social problems of the poor. (8907)
